The Rockbox™ Boiling Point™ Overdrive Boost incorporates a 3 position diode selector for a nearly endless variety of harmonic flavor. 
In the Plexi mode, the pedal has a very Marshall-like response. For the Symetrical Overdrive mode, the pedal has a truly organic, tube-like distortion, with greater output and a responsiveness and overtones like no other. The middle position is a clean boost, with more than enough gain to send your favorite tube amp into overdrive heaven. 
While the Overdrive Boost has a tremendous amount of gain, close attention was paid to how the pedal cleans up. If you are a volume knob player, you will love this pedal. It easily cleans up for a thick, creamy clean rhythm sound.
The Boiling Point is consistently named the "Best of Class" when paired against other "Holy Grail" pedals.
For reliability, socketed connections are not used, except with the 4558 chip, which is designed to be socketed. All other connections in the pedal are soldered. 
Rockbox tests each pedal before it leaves their factory by actually listening to the pedal.  Other manufactures run the pedals through a signal test, but don't actually listen to the pedal.
