Rockett Pedals Blue Note Overdrive

The Blue Note Overdrive gives you a very woodsy blues feel and can achieve more gain than a typical tube screamer type guitar pedal (no this isn't another tubescreamer clone just using this as a reference). With the newly added "Hot" switch this overdrive pedal is capable of multiple tones. The "Hot" switch adds more gain, more volume and gooses the low mids for a thick juicy feel. The Blue Note OD can be set to run flat in its EQ section or select the "Hot" position for more prominent mids. Since the Blue Note can be run in either position it makes it suitable for many applications. This pedal is all about feel and really works well with any guitar/amp combination.

With the switch up you have engaged the “Hot” switch. This brings in more gain, more lows and more mids. With the switch down you flatten the mids and lows and remove gain.
 

The tone knob is voiced for useable frequencies without the extremes. Having too much or too little it is a waste. Rockett tries to employ as much of the useful frequency sweep as they feel necessary.

The “FAT” control is a very subtle control that would normally be a switch going from one extreme to another making it very noticeable. Rockett uses a pot to be able to get the subtle "in-betweens". You may not hear a tremendous difference, but there is subtle fatness being added in between the extreme on and off.

It is recommended that you start with all control knobs at 12:00. When you apply the “HOT” switch it becomes aggressive & musical at the same time. Try running the “HOT” switch off for stuff that needs to sit in the mix and turn the “HOT” switch on for leads. You can also leave the “HOT” switch on and back off you guitar volume, it will clean up nicely.

All Rockett Pedals operate off of the standard type 9v adapter, like our 9VPS, or a single 9v battery. The power input is a 5.5 mm x 2.1 mm jack wit the positive voltage on the outer sleeve. Using an external power supply will disconnect the battery. Disconnect the input jack to preserve battery life when not in use or when not used with an appropriate external power supply.
